Brooke's Birthday

We decided to meet Brooke and Josh at the Gateway for Brooke's birthday lunch. It was quite an adventure. Mom, Jenn, Bridge, Jax, Huds and I decided it would be fun to take Trax. It was definitely a long afternoon but lots of fun.

No more stitches....but close call

We went to the doctor this morning to have Jax's stitches taken out. It went pretty well. The doctor thought Jax was one of his best patients ever. After the doctor we headed to Walmart to do some shopping. Jax wasn't looking and ran right into a ladies cart. His stitches had only been out about 10 minutes before the top cut started bleeding again! I totally thought I was going to have to take him to get stitches again, but I think it will be okay. Boy, I sure hope his head gets all better soon!

10 Stitches

We almost made it to Jaxon's 3rd birthday before stitches. Yesterday we were getting ready to take naps and our little busy Huds knocked over grandma's big tall lamp and the glass shattered on Jax's head. As soon as the blood started gushin' I knew it wasn't going to be good. I calmly carried Huds to the top of the stairs, grabbed Jax and carried him up the stairs then called mom. I think the phone call went a little like this:
B: Mom, I need your help
M: What happened?
B: Huds knocked over the lamp in the basement and it shattered on Jax's head
M: Is he okay?
B: I don't think so
M: Is he bleeding?
B: Yes
M: I'll be right there!
I'm pretty sure mom was home in like one minute. I know I am 31 years old but I will always need my mom. She makes everything better. We decided Jax needed stitches and off we went to the Urgent Care. Mom stayed and watched Huds while Jax and I were at the doctor. Jaxon did AMAZING! He didn't even cry. As the doctor was stitching him up, Jax turned to him and said "you should get a t.v. in here". It was so funny. To top it all off, Jax got a coupon from the doctor for a free ice cream cone. He was pretty happy about that!

Making Donuts

Jenn and I were feeling a little Paula Deanish the other day and decided to try her simple donut recipe. They were amazing! Instead of using the chocolate glaze recipe (it was disgusting) we melted vanilla frosting and used it as a glaze. Delicious!

The Sidewalk Bridge

On Friday, Mom and I decided we should get out with the kids and do something fun. So, what could be better than taking Jaxon and Huds to 10400th South and walking up the sidewalk bridge (well run, Jax never walks anywhere) and back down. Jax has never had so much fun in his life. When we were all finished and heading back home, Jax turned to Mom and said "Thanks Grandma. I pretty liked that." We also had a quick, fun weekend with Ryan. The boys had so much fun hanging out with him and I had so much fun going on a date with him. Thanks Jenn, for watching the boys so we could go see The Dark Night. It was sad to see Ryan leave and even more sad to watch Jax. When Ryan started walking to his truck, Jax started to cry and didn't want Ryan to leave. It will be so nice to be together as a family again. In the meantime, we'll just keep on, keepin' on.

Funny Story

Jaxon 2 months old

So I was getting the boys out of the tub and getting them ready for church.
The story went a little like this:

B: Why are you guys always so whiny on church days
J: I'm not whiny
B: Ya, you guys are being whiny
J: Mom, I don't whine to snackermint (translation, he doesn't whine during sacrament)

Funny boy! Love him to death!

Hi

Hudson one day old

Jaxon 2 weeks olds

Not much is going on..... Ryan has been working like crazy on the land. This last weekend he finished the hole for the foundation and a few other holes and stuff. The foundation will be poured Monday. YEA! We haven't see Ryan as much as we'd like to. He's been working so hard at his job and on our house. He's such a great example to me of hard work and he never complains. He is such a good husband and great dad. We always joke around that he's the "softie" with our boys and that I'm the "meanie". I was always scared of my dad growing up. What happened? It's also been kinda hard staying at Grandma and Grandpa Torsell's. Okay, not for the boys, but for their mom. :) I have such smell issues and allergies that it just makes it hard to be there. Anyway, our boys are doing good. Jax is doing awesome potty training. Huds went to his one-year check up and he's doing good. He weighs 20.25 lbs. He's starting to walk all around things but doesn't quite dare to let go. Pretty soon he'll be giving Jax a run for his money! So, I can't get any pictures to load right now so I'll post some later!

Farm Country

We had so much fun at Thanksgiving Point with Ang, Cam, Sade, Heath and Bridge. It was $2 Tuesday and you can't beat a few hours of fun for that price. Jaxon loved riding the horse and when it was time for his turn, he said "Mom, don't hold on to me. I can do it by myself." Well, fine! He loved it. Huds loved looking at all the animals and just hanging out. Here are a few pictures from the event.
